Wellbutrin SR
I was diagnosed with Major Depression about 12 years ago and was on Zoloft for about a year and was fine until March this year. I have recently been put on Wellbutrin SR as Cilift was not working. I am also on Urbanol 10mg three times a day.
My problem is that since I have started Wellbutrin SR (approx 2 and a half weeks now) I have wet my bed twice. I have also had the most horrific nightmares. Is this a side effect of this medication??

I"m not sure what the Urbanol is for, as it's not usually used to treat basic Depression. It's used to treat Anxiety, and is sedative, and should not usually be used long-term rather than for 8 to 12 weeks at most., as it can cause dependence on itself. It could well be over-sedation by the Urbanol that could cause you to sleep so deeply that you wet your bed ( especially if you ever, unwisely, combine it with alcohol ). Wellbutrin is not so likely to do that. It might be associated with more vigorous dreaming and nightmaes, though, especially in the early weeks of using it. It can be associated with various sleep disturbances. There is also a small risk of one having occasional epileptic fits ( and these could be associated with wetting oneself ), so it'd be wise to report the bed-wetting to your doctor, so he can take this very small possibility into account. Generally, it is an efective and useful antidepressant, and is also used to help people stop smoking, so if you're a smoker, this might be a good time to give it up !
