what to do
i now need some advise on my work story. i work in reception not fantastic but it pays. firstly am i being a bitch when asking why the hell cant i ask the other lady to watch the phones if i need to pop out smoke or loo makes no difference. it not like it all the time maybe 2 times a day. i must now tell my boss insted she is a freind of mine but i dont know who has now got the issue i i know its not her. i mean how pathetic can you get i never take lunch i never ask anyone to do anything for me instead im always asking if i can help coz im so bloody bord. secondly i started as a temp earning a temp wage. then was offered the job perm and the salary was droped based on the facet that this bitch wasnt giving me work to do so it didnt fall in my duties i was fine with it. now i was up for review now end Jan 3 moths thing, but no one has mentioned it and i dont know how to, im also sared that they are going to say the same thing again because i dont do that much and the people im supposed tohelp dont let me. how do i put it that the only reason i dont do this shit is coz nobody is botherd to let me. the stuff i do i dont think warrents much increase. but it really isnt my fault that i dont do anything else. im not going to lick ass for people to give me work by direct boss understands that but she doesnt give me the increase. i feel im entitled to one but how do i bring it up. ive always been in waitressing or hostessing so i dont know how to handle this. i know it sounds really pathetic but its not to me. i really do like working here and i need the experience.

I'm sure the right to a loo break ought to be enshrined somewhere in the Constitution. And surely the company would be only sensible to add into her job description, a requirement that she cover for you at such times. because unless you're a Martian ( if so, I'd like to see your visa ) you will need such breaks. Don't you need a good long chat with boss and/or HR about these issues. You can't be penalized in your salary because some other women for some reason don't LET you help them. Even as a receptionist, they're not supposed to pay you less on the days when fewer people visit the offices.
