Worried about a 4yr old
My now 4 yrs old son is eating his nails, I don't know why? I realised this habbit after he saw his dad and I fighting, verbally and physically,I was extremely angry with his dad and I threw staff to him.
DO you think that might be the cause of him eating his nails now...pls advice...

Many kids bite their nails, and it rarely causes problems. They may do so a bit more if there is stress and tension in the house, but even kids from the most peaceful of homs do so for a while, and then stop. So I don't think you caused this. SOme parents let it ride for a while and the children usually stop on their own. If it remains a chronic problem, there are some nasty-tasting chemicals one can get from the chemist, to paint on the nails so that biting them becomes more unpleasant for him. Keeping him well occupied also helps
