baie vlooie

Hi De Waal
Ek hoop Engels is ok.
The black spots are the flea faeces (mostly dried blood), so you still have lots of fleas. My suggestion is that you don't wash your dog, but use a good quality product (like Advantage or Frontline Plus) from the vet, which comes in a spot-on or spray variety. You must not wet your dog for 3 days before and after using these products. (Brushing your dog is much better than bathing so do this every day or second day with a soft brush or rubber mitt.) This may be expensive, but it is most likely to work and save you all the shampoo and scratching. These are both used about once a month and I suggest you use them for at least 6 months to get rid of all the fleas. If there are any other animals around they must also be treated. Ask the vet what you can use to wash his bedding with and do this at least once a week. Apparently using a thick layer of salt on your carpets will kill fleas when you vacuum it up after a couple of days. Otherwise fumigate your house while you and your dog are away overnight.
Good luck!
