Hi Bunny
Cats often bite the ends of their nails off so that the new, sharp layer underneath can emerge. Most times cats scratch these off on trees, scratching posts, carpets or furniture, but often a difficult nail has to be helped with the teeth. However I'm not sure if your cat is actually going beyond this and biting into the "quick". If so, there would be rawness and possibly blood. I have never heard of a cat doing this, but if yours does let me know on this forum.
