Depending on the stage of chronic renal failure, treatment that we do consider include diet therapy (very important, commercial kidney failure diets are freely available), the use of medication called ACE-inhibitors (speak to your veterinarian about this), possibly additional therapy for high blood pressure (hypertension) if necessary, and as the condition progresses, the use of antacids and antinausea treatment. Many cats can live for many years with kidney failure, and we aim at improving the quality of life.

Good luck!
