Why do dogs like licking themselves and when is it too much
Hey there,
I have a dog who is a bit shy, quiet and not very hyper. But she is constantly licking herself especially her legs - back and front legs and she likes licking me too!
Is this just her nature or could there be an underlying health reason?
Should I discourage her or is it a harmless habit?

In some dogs this is simply a habit. It may also indicate allergy, and then very often there will be some redness or inflammation of the skin. It is difficult to give you an absolute answer. Do discourage her from leaking you.
