topical anesthetic
I have a 9 month old boy who is teething at the moment. It wouldn' t be so bad if he was getting one at a time, but he has four cutting at the same time. (I can see the swollen gums) This is extremely painfull for him, and he cannot sleep for more than 20mins during the day, and not more than an hour at night before he wakes up crying. The little sleep he is getting, is now affecting his moods, eating habbits and he is lethargic because of exhaustion. This morning at 3:58, I had an idea, now I need to run it past you. Could I not get the topical anesthetic you guys use for baby' s gums, for night time use. My dentist uses this topical one to numb the site where he will inject, and it works like a bomb. Teejel contains so much alcohol, and I' m not happy giving him this every day... Could I get this over the counter? Or do you think it is a bad idea....

using topical anaesthetic is NOT recommended.
it cannot be bought over the counter- using it is more harmful than Teejel.
