Alkaline fruits rich in vit C?
Hi Doc.Trust you had a good break?We all back 2 trouble you again.Lol. Anyways just wanted to know which alkaline fruits are rich in vitamin C to boost immune system?Acidic fruits are a problem for me.So basically which fruits ARE alkaline?

Thank you, I did have a good break, but it is good to be back too. I gather from what you say that fruits like oranges, naartjies, grapefruit, lemons and perhaps even strawberries which are all rich in vit C, give you an acid reaction (e.g heartburn)? If so, try eating Kiwi fruit, pawpaw, guavas (remove the pips), spanspek which are also rich in vit C and do not have an acid taste. If you don't get discomfort from cabbage, broccoli, tomatoes or green peppers then you can also use them as excellent sources of vit C.
I think I answered your question about acid and alkaline foods before on 18 Sept? There I mentioned that most fruits are actually alkaline when digested. However, if you suffer from excess acid production in the stomach then you may find that citrus fruits make the condition worse.
