i just wanted to find out if there are any foods that an asthmatic person should avoid or eat more of.

It all depends on the type of asthma you suffer from. If your asthma is triggered by certain foods, then you would have to avoid such foods. Have you had any allergy tests done to determine if any foods or preservatives, flavourants or colourants, trigger your attacks? If not, then please discuss this with your treating physician so that you can have the necessary tests done. Once we have this information we can consider which foods need to be excluded from your diet. Otherwise a balanced diet which is rich in protective nutrients (obtained from fruit, vegetables, milk and dairy products and unprocessed grains), is indicated.
