Bowel Cleansing
I do not eat that much bread, but sundenly I have been constipated for the last 3 weeks now, in order for me to go to the loo, I must pop some laxatives, and this I would go once and after that nothing for days to come. Can you suggest a bowel cleasing dieting please.

Thank you.

Dear Dev
You need to increase your dietary fibre intake. Eat more foods that are rich in fibre such as: wholewheat bread, wholegrains, fruit (fresh and dried), vegetables and legumes. Try soaking and boiling dried fruit and eating 1/4 cup every day at breakfast together with a high-bran cereal or sprinkling wheat bran (buy at health shop) over breakfast cereal (start with 1 T a day and increase gradually to 2-3 T daily).
Best regards
