Dear Pira
Congratulations on the birth of your baby. It is excellent that you are breastfeeding your baby as this will give him/her the best start in life. If you are doing plenty of exercise (about 30 min of cardio every day or 60 min every 2nd day) and eating an energy-reduce, low-fat, low-GI diet (not just a low-GI diet) then you should start losing esp as you are breastfeeding which uses up quite a lot of energy. If your diet is just low-GI and not reduced in energy and fat then it is possible that you are still ingesting too much energy. If you intend to continue breastfeeding to 1 year or longer, then please consult a clinical dietitian (visit the Association for Dietetics in SA Website at: and click on "Find a Dietitian" to find a dietitian in your area), to help you check on your energy intake and to assist you with a diet that will help you lose weight, and still provide you and baby with all the nutrients you require to be healthy.
Best regards
