Coxsaacie B Virus
I have recently been diagnosed with Coxsaacie B - and have been told that I can take no medication as this is a viral infection. Apparently it is very similar to Yuppie Flu with extreme fatigue, muscular pain, headaches etc. Is there anything you can recommend with regards to foods that I should eat/ avoid? I am craving sugar (I think to boost my energy levels) but notice that I feel ill after eating it ...

Dear Shelby
Sorry to hear about your condition. You need to eat a diet that is rich in protective nutrients (vitamins, minerals, trace elements and omega-3 fatty acids) and low in processed starch and fat. Therefore start eating fresh fruit and vegetables (the fruit will satisfy your cravings), unprocessed, unsifted grains and cereals, low-fat milk and dairy products, lean meat, plenty of fish, 4 eggs per week and poly- or monounsaturated margarine and olive oil. If necessary also take a complete vitamin and mineral supplement (Centrum, Supradyn Forte, etc) and Salmo oil capsules to boost your omega-3 intake. You can also try taking Intestiflora or Intestiforte which you buy at health shops - these capsules contains beneficial micro-flora which help your body to fight this disease. Also get plenty of rest, but do some gentle exercise like walking in the fresh air or yoga and deep breathing exercises.
Hope you soon feel better.
Best regards
