Diet Plan when Pregnant
Dear Doc,

Where can I find a good pregnancy diet plan?

Also, if my husband is allergic to shell fish, should I avoid eating it during my pregnancy? Also, if I have allergies, should I also avoid them, for example, I am very allergic to cats.

Dear Reader
Basically you need to eat a healthy, balanced diet (click on 'Diet' and 'View old Diet & Food site" and read all the articles on 'Balanced Diet I-IV'. Theoretically 2 people who are allergic to certain allergens like shellfish and cats, may well have a child that is also allergic, but not necessarily to the same allergens, e.g. the child may be sensitive to nuts and soya, etc. So there is no reason for you to avoid shellfish during pregnancy, but if you require medication for your cat allergy then steer clear of felines because it is advisable not to take any medications, including over-the-counter medicines while you are pregnant.
Enjoy your pregnancy
