Xenical is a Schedule 5 medication because it needs to be prescribed by a medical dr who has assessed your suitability for using it and who is supposed to monitor your progress. In addition, Xenical may cause deficiencies of the fat-soluble vitamins A, E, D and K, so the dr should also monitor if you develop such deficiencies and if this should occur, prescribe supplements.
