Is this sufficient?
I am currently 20kgs overweight. I have started gyming 4-5 times a week and lost 4kgs in the last 2 months. My diet consists of bran flakes with skim milk and 1tsp sugar OR 2 slices brown toast with marg in the morning. Lunch is two slices of seed loaf and snack of carrots and a fruit and sometimes also a yoghurt (fat free). Supper is chicken (I don't have an appetite for much red meat any more and I am not a big fish fan....is this OK?) with veggies. I try to drink as much water as possible. Does this sound good enough for weighloss r do I have to cut out something else? I have also heard that you should not eat Carbs after 13h00 and just doing this will help you to lose weight. Is this true?

Dear Lee
Your diet is basically acceptable, but you need at least 2-3 cups of fat-free milk or yoghurt a day to provide you with the calcium you need to prevent osteoporosis. So include another cup of milk and/or a day. If you find that you lose less than 2 kg per month, it may be a good idea to have your hormone levels checked (thyroid, insulin and female hormones) just to make sure that you don't suffer from a condition like insulin resistance. Losing 0,5 kg per week is fine as slow, steady weight loss prevents regains. There is no scientific basis to the idea that not eating carbs after lunchtime will cause weight loss.
