Dear Nto
Olive oil is rich in so-called monounsaturated fatty acids which are very beneficial to heart health. Dietitians recommend that we should consume olive oil instead of other oils if possible (but olive oil is expensive). The supposed role of olive oil in treating HIV-AIDS has not been substantiated. So generally speaking it is a good idea to use olive oil in salads and for cooking if you can afford it. Otherwise use other cooking and salad oils such as sunflower or canola oil (these oils are rich in polyunsaturated fats which also benefit heart health, just not as much as the monounsaturated oils).
