rooibos tea and fruit
Hi there,
Can you please tell me if rooibos tea is considered to be a herbal tea? I have it with milk and sweetner but does it mean if its herbal I can drink as many cups per day as I like?
Also which fruits have the lowest amount of sugar in them besides apples and pawpaws and which are the worst to eat if you are trying to lose weight?
Many Thanks

Dear Kally
I would suppose that rooibos tea can be regarded as a type of herbal tea. If you drink so many cups of rooibos together with milk that the amount of milk starts making a difference to your energy intake when you are tyring to lose weight, then this could be a potential problem. You do, however, still need to ingest at least 2 cups of fat-free milk a day when dieting, so this would permit many, many cups of rooibos. Berries generally have a low sugar and energy content, as well as citrus fruits. Most fruits can be eaten in moderate quantities as their energy content is not high. Fruits such as grapes may have a high sugar content if they are very ripe.
Best regards
