All foods are potentially fattening if eaten in excess. According to the SA Food Tables, rusks contain about 1800 kJ per 100g. However 1 rusk only weighs about 20g, so eating one rusk would contribute 360 kJ or 5,7% of your daily energy intake if you are slimming. Choose rusks made with a high bran content, rather than white ones.
