Slight backache during detox
Dear Doc

I went for the Vega-test (allergies & intolerances) and now I am on a 6-week detox whereby I must cut out all meat, including chicken and hake, wheat & gluten products, diary products, eggs, coffee, banana's and mango's, preservatives, colourants like MSG and caramel, as well as flavourants.

The week after I have started with the detox, I experienced slight backache, not severe, but only when I am bending or stretching. Can this be because of the detox? I drink 6 - 8 glasses of water every day. I am in my 6 th week now and the backache is still there.

Please help.

Dear Amanda
I can't really say if the backache you are experiencing is due to this rather minimalistic detox diet that you are using, or not. It could be due to many other factors, such as muscle spasm, kidney problems, etc. If the symptom persists when you have completed the 6 weeks, I would recommend that you have it checked by a medical dr to rule out underlying pathology. I trust that you will start eating a normal, balanced diet again soon, as your detox diet is deficient in many important nutrients.
Hope the backache clears up
Best regards
