Weight Loss and Spastic Colon
I want to loose some weight (only about 5 kgs) but suffer from a spastic colon... What should I eat to accommodate my colon and loose some weight at the same time?

Dear Aitsa
Because of your spastic colon, I would recommend that you consult a clinical dietitian (visit the Association for Dietetics in SA Website at: and click on "Find a Dietitian" to find a dietitian in your area). The dietitian will work out a diet for you that helps you to lose weight, but does not include foods that cause you distress. Combine the diet with regular exercise (running, jogging, skipping, cycling, swimming, join a gym or Walk for Life), because this helps with weight loss and also relaxes you which makes the spastic colon more manageable.
Best regards
