What am I doing wrong?
Hi Dietdoc

I am struggling with reducing my weight. This is what I normally eat and have been doing it for 3 weeks now.
Breakfast
3/4 cup of oats(uncooked)
1/4 cup of fat-free milk

Mid-morning
5 provitas/4 Rye vita
Apple

Lunch
1 tomato
1/4 green peppers
1 piece chicken (without skin)

Mid-afternoon
1 Fruit - Banana/Pear

Supper
Green Salad
Grilled Fish
1 Slice wholewheat bread
1 Margarine

I drink 3 litres of water a day
I jogg 6Xa week in the mornings for +-30 min(15 min with 1.5kg dumbells) and walk 5 min

Basically your diet looks ok to me. I would just add more low-fat or skim milk and yoghurt about 2 cups, to supply you with the calcium you require. Because you don't list your height in metres and weight in kg, I can't work out your BMI to check if you are actually overweight or not. Click on 'Diet' and 'Tools' and calculate your own BMI. If your BMI is between 18 and 25, then you are not overweight, which could be the reason for you lack of success with losing any. The human body resists losing weight when your weight is already normal to protect you against starvation. If your BMI is above 25 then you may have a thyroid or other hormone deficiency, which your dr would have to determine for you. I also think you are overdoing the water drinking - you need only drink about 3-4 glasses of water in addition to all the other beverages you ingest on a daily basis. Too much of a good thing can also be bad for you- moderation is always the key.
