Who many calories?
I am 39 years old and have an underactive thyroid. I am 1,679 tall, weight at present 84.4, have a BMI of 30, a WHR of 0,77. My resting pulse at present is 87. I want to know who many calories I must take in a day if I want to loose about 1,5kg a week.

Dear Spokie
International authorities agree that adult women who need to lose weight steadily, should reduce their energy intake to 1500 cal or 6300 kJ per day. This should result in a weight loss of 1 to 1,5 kg a week. If possible try to do some regular physical activity on a daily basis - brisk walking is an excellent option. Exercise encourages weight loss and has been found to help people stick to their diets.
