Dear Dolla

The utrogestan is a progesterone supplement and is often used for patients who have luteal phase problems i.e. poor progesterone production after ovulation has occurred. However the use of utrogestan has to be carefully guided and cannot be used in the wrong phase of the cycle i.e. it is best to use the progesterone supplement in the second half of the cycle 3-4 days after ovulation has already occurred and to be continued until a pregnancy has been confirmed or menstruation has occurred.
