Dear M.B

It is true that your cycle length is abnormally long and should not exceed 34 days. It appears that there is a significant hormonal imbalance and it is very unlikely that you are ovulating regularly. There are many reasons for this type of bleeding in the absence of ovulation and I would therefore suggest that you visit your gynaecologist and have your hormone levels checked. The possibility of Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) should be seriously considered. In addition your thyroid and prolactin levels should be monitored as well.
