Dear Ruby
The issue containing nutritional supplementation such as fertiboost has been dealt with in the previous posting.
Nutritional supplementation for fertility treatment is only indicated in cases where diet specifically lacks the necessary trace elements and vitamins essential for hormone production and implantation.
Where the diet is balanced and adequte, nutrional supplementation is of very little value in the treatment of fertility. Its role is mainly that of a psychological nature.
In the vast majority of cases, excess intake of vitamins results in the excretion of these vitamins via the urinary system (urine) and gastro-intestinal tract. ie in the stools.
However, since most individuals are unsure as to whether their diet is adequate or contains sufficient nutritional supplelmentation, and furthermore trace elements are rather difficult to measure by routine lab testing, it may be advisable to utilise a supplement for a SHORT period of time so as to replace and maintain any deficiency that may be present.
As regard the PCOS and low sperm count I would be intersted in looking at the speriogram report to give you more information. The use of metformin in the case of insulin resistance is a standard treatment in most fertility institutions.
