Have 2 children, can't conceive
My last born is 13 years old. I have not been on contraceptive for the past 5 years, but failed to conceive. I have tried Clomid, no luck. I have had a laparoscopy about 18 months back - my gynae reported that the cysts have decreased in size. My husband also had major surgery to his leg 10 years ago. My first born was 9 months when I fell pregnant with the last one. Why can't I conceive and what procedures should I follow?

Dear angel

The problem you are describing is called secondary infertiliy. There are many different possible causes for this problem including male factor abnormality such as a declining or deteriorating sperm count and or morphology, blockage of the fallopian tubes and or poor quality ovulation.
These factors need to be investigated thoroughly before one can suggest the treatment plan. Additional problems such as thyroid abnormailty needs to be considered as well and therefore I would recommend that you consult a fertility specialist for a complete evaluation.
The information provided does not constitute a diagnosis of your condition. You should consult a medical practitioner or other appropriate health care professional for a physical examination, diagnosis and formal advice.
