why is it taking so long??
i have a daughter of 6. my hubby & i've been trying for 6months to fall pregnant.my monthly has moved from the beginning, to the middle then last month, the very end of the month. everytime i think i'm late, then my period surprises me. am i too anxious? is this normal? with my first child, i fell pregnant immediately a month after stopping the pill. i also had a miscarriage 2 years ago.
should i just be patient and wait for nature to take its course?

Dear TL

The good thing is that you have had a daughter of 6 which means that you and your husband had the ability to conceive. The fact that you fell pregnant immediately after one month of stopping the pill is not common. The chances of a couple conceiving per month is approximately 18-20% under normal circumstances. It would therefore take an average couple between 6-9 months to conceive. I think you may be too anxious as 6months is not a long time. My suggestion is to try for a further 6 months and if you still don’t conceive then you should seek fertility help by your gynaecologist. My only concern is that your period seems to be a little bit irregular. I would suggest that you check if you are ovulating or not by using a clearplan urine test.
