Does weight-training stunt growth?
I am 14 yrs old & still growing. For the past year I had been weight-training heavily 5 days a week until 1 of my friends told me it stunts your growth. I play rugby so I need the strength from weight-training. Do you have any aerobic excercises that build upper-body strength well?

Hi there

You are definitely doing weight-training too often, three times a week, with a day's recovery is essential. You muscle takes 48hrs to recover after a weight-training bout, therefore more than 3 sessions a week of weight-training is excessive.

An excellent aerobic exercise that will build endurance and strength is rowing - an excellent form of exercise!
