heart pulpatations
Ive stopped smoking as a new years res, and have started training for the 94.7 cycle challenge. I also donate blood, which i couldnt do recently cause my iron was 11.3. i have been having chest pains since dec, since i started training and at night when i lie on my back my heart beats really hard, what does this mean, im real worried as my mom died from a pulmonary embolism, would this have something to do with anything. Am i straining my heart, is it colestrol?
i also have just come off a 2 day period, which i normally are 6 days. please help. real concerned

I think that you need to see a doctor, it may be nothing, and I don't want to concern you unnecessarily, but in general, chest pains during exercise are to be taken very seriously. So I think that you need to check with the doctors, make an appointment and have them test you. As you know, it's far better to be safe than sorry. So get this out of the way, and then resume training with a clear conscience and some confidence.
