Could you give a simple explanation why heart rate increase with exercise?

Hi there

As you exercise, so your requirements for more oxygen and fuel to the muscles increases, i.e more energy has to be obtained so that the exercise can continue. Hence the heart has to beat faster to get these supplies to the working muscles, hence your heart rate increases.
