how many is sufficient?
how many days of gym do you recommend a week? some weeks i can manage up to 5 days, but then if i'm having a busy week i can only manage 3.

i worried that three days a week is a waste of time, and is not going to benefit me at all...

i do about 60 mins each day.

I think that three days is a good place to begin, particularly when each session is 60 minutes long. The only consideration is that if you train 3 days a week, it means that you don't train more than you do. If you simply went up to 4, even if you had to shorten each session to 45 minutes, I believe that you would get a more consistent benefit. But I don't want you to believe that 3 times is a waste, because it's not. Especially if you usually do 5 and then work and other things come up. Of course, there will be times where you can't do your normal 5 a week, but if you keep up what you are doing, then you can get back to five even easier. Look at it this way, if 3 is a waste of time, the alternative is to do nothing or 5. You can't do 5 some weeks, you have no time, and so that means you have the option of doing nothing. If three is a waste of time, then imagine what doing nothing is!

So keep it up, don't despair if you can't train, you are not doing badly if 3 exercise days a week is the worst you do!
