skipping throughout the day
Hello doc,
just a question. i doing 100x jump rope skips about 8x per day. Say every hour or so.
Is this the same as doing a full 10 minute skipping session?
i get tired after a few minutes so this way i find it easier to do much more throughout the day.
Is this pathetic and a waste of time?
(it takes me about 1,5mins to get through 100 skips)

Difficult to say- probably not, in terms of the adaptations it will cause. You won't get the same fatigue doing 8 separate sessions as you would after 10 continuous minutes. But that doesn't mean you don't get some benefits.

I think that the key is to realise that in total, 12 minutes a day is good, but still well below what you might need to aim for for health benefits from training.

In other words, it will certainly help to get a little more total exercise a day. This is in fact the big issue with skipping - it's so hard and intense that it's really hard to do for a long time. I can myself certainly not skip for more than 5 minutes at a time. THat's why skipping should be part of, rather than the focus of, your training sessions!
