streaching??
hi, how important is it to streach after exercise. besides so stop getting stiff, l heard that it stops muscle from bulking. will that mean if i dont streach much after exercise, i will get ( little) bulky? i dont get stiff even after not streaching.

I have to just correct a very widely held misconception - lactate is gone within the first few minutes of stopping exercise and it does not cause stiffness in any way. Therefore, stretching may work, but it's not because it helps you get rid of lactic acid. Poor lactic acid is the most misunderstood molecule around, it has a bad reputation but it actually doesn't cause most of the things it has been blamed for.

Now, onto the issue of stretching, I'm a believer in ensuring flexibility, simply because I think that it is a good way to end a training session doing something constructive and it improves flexibility. There is a question of whether this actually means preventing injury, but enough people believe in it to suggest there may be some truth to it. Being inflexible is simply not ideal, and so even if it's not helping with injury, you are still better of being flexible and inflexible. So I certainly suggest stretching regularly. As for bulking, it does not affect that at all - the training influences whether you get bulky or not, and not the stretching you do.
