stretch marks
hi doc

I've started gyming and been going at it for 3 months now. today, upon close inspection i noticed a slight/or forming of a slight stretch mark on upper arm (bicep are). you cant really see it, i would say its not really there rather slowly starting to form. i have to view it in the right light to be able to notice anything.

how do i stop this from worsening? what preventative measures can i use? bio oil?

please advice.

Hi Mike

I must confess I'm not 100% sure. Often they just go away, probably because the skin (which is just connective tissue, made up of collagen and other materials) adapts to the 'stretch'. So part of me wants to suggest that you should see how it develops. Now, I'm not an expert in this area, but there are often products that claim to prevent stretch marks (the creams, I mean) and perhaps they do have some effect. I am sceptical, though I think you should probably ask a plastic surgeon about this, it's more up their alley. But the creams might have a very slight effect and that might be enough for you. So perhaps consult with someone who does work more in that area. As I said, I suspect it won't develop into anything more, but they'd be able to tell you how to resolve it if it does.

Good luck
