The best time to eat after a workout???

I usually have a 30 minute workout (Taebo) at 6pm in the evenings. When is the best time to have dinner, WITHIN 1 hour after the workout, OR 1 hour AFTER the workout.
For example:
If I finish the workout at 6:30 pm should I have dinner before 7:30pm, or after?

Hi Kelly

The answer will have to be pragmatic, there's probably no real reason why it's one or the other. In guys doing heavy endurance training (we're talking upwards of two or three hours here), it's recommended to eat as soon as possible after training, to speed up the recovery process. But for a typical session of 30 minutes, that effect is much smaller, so it doesn't matter. The pragmatic thing is then whether you have the appetite or not, simple as that. Some people can eat right after training, others have to wait until their appetite returns.

So that's really all there is to eat. Provided you eventually replace that energy, it's fine. The 30 minutes either side of one hour won't make too much of a difference - it's WHAT you eat that counts, not WHEN (in this case)

Good luck
