I need some help,
I've started gyming and am a little confused about when i should have supper...
You see, i can only gym from about 20:00 and heard you shouldn't eat after 19:00 in the evening, but in the same breath, you shouldn't eat before you gym...
How true is this?

Hi Lilo

I think that practically, eating late at night was first said to be a bad idea because it prevented people from being active after eating. So it was more of a weight loss strategy to try to help people lose weight. I'm not as convinced that there is any more to this than a simple strategy for self-help. my advice is that you shoudl eat when you can, when it suits you. If you eat just before trianing, you are likely to get some sort of stomach problem, or feel bloated and heavy, so that's not a good idea. However, if you eat at least one hour before, that's not such a big problem. I think that you should perhaps try to eat about 5h30 or 6, and then have a snack after training to replenish what was used up. that is one simple solution. The other is to just eat after, though here, the problem is that when you train late and then eat, it's sometimes difficult to sleep. if you can do it, fine, otherwise, consider eating before with a snack after.

Good luck
