With all due respect, I do not mean to sound crude, I was merely wondering whether one burns calories whilst experiencing an orgasm, eg climax sans preceding physical exertion. Implying the contractions alone?
Thank you

Hi Shy

Absoultely true - any activity burns calories. Even as you sit at your computer and read this email, you are burning energy. In fact, your brain activity burns a lot of calories. When you wake up in the morning, for example, your liver, which is a major storage 'house' of energy, is almost out, and that's why you need breakfast. Where did that energy go? It went to providing energy for all the body's normal processes during sleep! So imagine how much you use doing every day activities. As for your particular question, that falls into this category. The issue is that in order to burn calories sufficient to lose weight, you need to have a prolonged and sustained structured exercise session. For example, we have this concept of 10000 steps nowadays, where people are encouraged to walk 10000 steps a day. If you could count your steps, you very soon realise that you cannot get this many unless you set aside 30 to 40 minutes of STRUCTURED exercise per day. The same goes for any other exercise - all activities burn calories, but if it's weight loss you want, it's not enough, you must do something else, in most cases.

Good luck
