Hi everyone -

I think most gay and lesbian people in SA, myself included, have been somewhat taken aback or preoccupied by the now infamous Jon Qwelane article published in the Sunday Sun of 20 July. We' ve seen protests in Cape Town (on Friday) and in Jhb (today) - visit mambaonline (see the link above our forum) for updates, and peeps on Facebook are no doubt being informed of the situation there. Thank you to everyone who sent emails and messages of support.

The editor of Health24 and her team have been incredibly supportive of us so while we may have differences with the Media24 group, let' s hang onto this tiny stake of Media24 that' s ours - so I suggest we get back to business. Let' s keep doing what we' ve been doing so well for several years - offering a safe space for gay, lesbian and bisexual people to get advice and support from others.

We' re open for business as usual so please keep posting.
