In or Out?
Hi there

I would like to know how gay people who are out the closet view gay people who are in the closet. I am in the closet and find that many gay people are looking to be friends with people who "aren't afraid to show who they truly are." Like being friends with someone who isn't out while you are , is quite frankly just way too much effort?

I go to lush parties and envy the women who are all so comfortable with themselves, but find it hard to make even ONE friend that i can speak to about being gay, and being in a gay relationship...

What is the deal?

Hi Kelly, welcome to the forum and thanks for posting here. My apologies for this late response but I see that others have already posted great responses.

You sound a bit socially isolated and since you attend Lush parties (isn't Myrna great?) you're obviously in Cape Town..... you're welcome to make contact with Triangle Project (our link appears above) about joining a support group, a lesbian book club or even volunteering with us. Another idea to meet great people is to get involved in Cape Town Pride.
