Chromosome 15
After 3 miscarraiges, my sister went for genetic testing. It was found that she had an 'extra' piece of dna attached to Chromosome 15. Could this be the reason for the miscarraiges - she carries fine until about 16 weeks and then spontaneously miscarraiges. If yes, is there any way to avoid this?

Dear Worried

It think the chromosome abnormality could indeed be the reason for the miscarriages. It will be best to get further advice from the laboratory who performed the test and their genetic counsellor/clinical geneticist ,because they will have all the information required to make any recommendations.
