Delayed Milestones
My 2yr old son only started walking recently and does not say a word. All his milestones has been delayed by 4-6mnths yet he has not skipped any. Has gone for various blood tests but still no answers. Had FISH probe done for Williams Syndrome along with genetic testing. Will this test tell me without a doubt that it is WS. How do you determine severity of mental retardation. Has lots of caracteristics of WS but not all. Having MRI 2morrow. What else can we do to determine his problem. If it is WS what special reatment? How does this happen? Did we do anyhing wrong?
Dear Bella
You have not done anything wrong, the FISH test is very accurate and will tell if there is a genetic alteration. I am sure the outcome of the MRI that was done also provided more answers. Please consult the genetic counsellor who is involved with the genetic testing procedure about the problem and treatment if you have any more questions.
