Blood pressure and pregnancy
Hi
Just found out I am pregnant (well did two home tests and both show positive) I have been on preterax 2 mg for high blood pressure for about a month and a half now and spoke to GP this morning he said to stop all medication and come see him. I estimate I am probably 7 weeks already would taking these BP tabs without knowing have caused any problems.
Going to see Gynae tomorrow but really stressing about this.
What do you think Dr would suggest regarding medication for high BP while I am pregnant?
Thanks

Preterax is not safe in pregnancy but, if you stop it now, it will hopefully not have caused damage. There are safe antihypertensives that can be used in pregnnacy.
Best wishes
