damage to my unborn? please help!
I've just found out that I am almost 8 weeks pregnant.
The problem is that I have a very hectic social life which includes a lot of partying, drinking, smoking and the worst of all is that I've been taking strong dieting tablets in this time. And it is not the herbal type.
I stopped immediately, but I'm so concerned to what damage I have already done to my unborn.
Please give me some clarity to what I might have done and what I can do to rectify the damage which I might have caused.
Would an abortion be the best option to eliminate the risk of having a potentially disabled child?
Please I'm going insane with worry.
Please help!

The alcohol is probably the most problematic. If you drank a lot, the fetus would be at risk of fetal alcohol syndrome. However, the risk is only about 30%, even with heavy drinking. There isn't a good way of knowing beforehand whether this is the case. You will have to decide whether you want to terminate or take the risk.
