Gynaedoc please advise - 37 weeks with a grade 3 placenta
Hi there

Went for a check up last Friday (36 weeks). My doctor says I have a grade 3 placenta. I am going for a check up tomorrow and for a non-stress test. I just want to know if I have anything to worry about?? I dont have hypertension, I dont smoke. Is this an indication of anything ominous?

If your doctor meant Grade 3 placental maturity, this is normal at 37 weeks. If you have a Grade 3 placenta praevia, this requires a caesarean section.

Best wishes
