Herniated Umbilical cord
Hi All,

I have been told that a herniated umbilical cord is a common thing and nothing to worry about. I was wondering what causes it and if there is anyone out there who's baby was born with it?

I know that these types of things can go away as the baby grows and as the stomach muscles are still closing.

If your baby is born with this herniation, will it have to be fixed sergically?

Any information or experiences are welcome. Doc, your input would be very valuable as per usual.

Thanks
Theresa
