I had an iud inserted last month.I had an infection within a week of putting it and was treated with antibiotics.infection cleared up.I was due for my period a week ago and still nothing.I&#39 m having severe lower abdominal cramps and back pain.The sister at the clinic told me that it&#39 s the hormones in the iud that&#39 s causing the absense of the period and told me it will eventually come.I&#39 m due for my six week check-up,but have to wait until after the first period.Am i going to have a period and when will it come.Im really worried that I might get pregnant.This is my first iud.please help.

If it is a Mirena that you have, you often do not have periods on this.
