LASER TREATMENT
I am 41, always had severe menstrual bleeding and pain. Cannot use the Pil due to constant infections. Tried Merina with no success. I am thinking of doing the laser treatment on my uterus to reduce the lining before going to the extreme decision to do a hysterectomy. I am very healthy, checked regularly and there is no particular medical reason for the heavy periods. What would you suggest and are you aware of any particular side effects of the procedure. This is fairly new and not a lot of information is out there with regards to side effects. Thanks.
This procedure is a much lesser procedure than a hysterectomy. It has the usual complications of any surgery - bleeding, infection, anaesthetic complications. It is not always successful and about 20% bof women will go on to have a hysterectomy.
