Mirena and difficulty with weight loss
I had a mirena for the past year and for the past year I am unable to lose weight. I excersize, with a hartrate monitor for 5 hours per week burning 25 000 kilojules per week. I eat a very healthy and balanced diet but cannot lose weight. My BMI is above 25 and sometimes even border on 26. I have never struggled with weightloss before and my family history supports that I should not have a problem losing weight. I had a baby 2 years ago and had no problem losing 12 kilograms in 4 months after birth. It is the remainder of the weight 10kg. that I am unable to lose since the mirena. Is this as a result of the mirena or could there be another solution. My thyroid are normal but my colestrol are a bit high 5.5 and my body are glucose sensitive. I take this into account when planning my meals. Who can I consult to help me with this problem?

It could be that the Mirena is causing some weight retention. If you are glucose sensitive, it may also be that you have PCOS, which is associated with weight gain. You should see a gynaecologist to test for this.
