PAIN BECAUSE OF LOOP
I GOT THE LOOP PUT IN ON TUESDAY, MY MENSTRUAL CYCLE ENDED ON SUNDAY SO MY GYNIE HAD TO PINCH THE MOUTH OF MY UTERUS CLOSED IN ORDER TO PUT THE LOOP IN. CAN YOU EXPLAIN TO ME WHERE EXACTLY THE LOOP IS PUT IN AND WHY DID MY GYNIE HAVE TO CLOSE
THE MOUTH OF MY UTERUS. I HAD ALOT OF PAIN DURING THAT PINCHING AND TODAY IS THURSDAY AND I STILL HAVE PAIN, IT FEELS LIKE MENSTRUAL PAINS AND ALSO AS IF SOMETHING IS COMING DOWN MY VAGINA. ANOTHER THING SINCE TUESDAY I HAVE HAD A DARK BROWN DISCHARGE AND IT SMELLS SOUR, I ALSO AM VERY NAUSIAS AND TIRED AND MY HEAD ACHES. IS THIS ALL BECAUSE OF THE LOOP AND WHEN WILL THE DISCOMFORT GO AWAY, OR DO YOU THINK I SHOULD SEE MY GYNIE AGAIN, HE PRESCRIBED XEFO 8 FOR ME FOR THE PAIN BUT IT DOESN'T HELP. THANK-YOU

The loop is put into the uterus. Pinching the mouth of the womb was probably just done to ,make the technical insertion of the loop easier. It is common to have some cramps and bleeding for a few days after a loop insertion. The nausea, tiredness and headaches would not be related. If your symptoms have not settled in a week, you should see your gynaecologist again. In the meantime, take analgesics like Panado or Ponstan.
